1930 World Cup  

Winner: Uruguay

Runner Up: Argentina

United States’ best performance in the FIFA world cup came in the 1930 version when it finished in the third position. Uruguay became the first country to lift the FIFA world cup.

1934 World Cup

No country has won the world cup back to back two times since 1962 when Brazil lifted the trophy in 1958 as well as in 1962.
